TECHNICAL RIDER Secret Life of Suitcases (SLoS)

SPACE AND VENUE

SLoS is designed to fit within a minimum footprint of 5 meters wide x 5 meters deep. Clearance to the lighting bars should ideally be minimum 4 metres. These dimensions represent usable performance space, and do not include wing space or storage.SLoS is intended for an end-on proscenium stage or an end-on black box theatre with seating directly opposite the performance area. The stage floor must be smooth, level, and either painted black or covered in black dance floor. Masking will be determined on a per-venue basis. Ideally seating on benches and/or mats are great for the kids to get close to stage.

SCENIC ELEMENTS

The set is composed of the following scenic elements, all of which travel with the company. Please refer to www.secretsuitcases.com/assets/secret-life-of-suitcases-tech-rider-v2.0.pdf
for images.

• 3x Nesting Tables-The largest of which is 918mm(h)x820mm(w)x620mm(d).
• 1x Movable internally wired 'goalpost'. This goalpost needs enough loose cable in order to travel upstage/ downstage by around 2m.
• Various size suitcases. • 5mx5m floor cloth.
• 'Pop-up' self supporting back-cloth, 2.5m x 2.5m.

SOUND

Where available, in-house sound system will be utilised; the show requires a stereo feed from stage to the PA.

All sound is operated by the performers on-stage after the initial set-up and level checks.

The Company travels with:
• A Macbook, operating Qlab for sound playback. • USB foot triggers.
• OPTIONAL Yamaha 400w StagePas Powered PA.
• Limited selectionof cables.

LIGHTING

The lighting is operated bythe 2 performers from on-stage, via a computer which would be linked up to dimmers via Ethernet cable to artnex box. Half of the lighting is internally wired to the set. The goal post requires 2x13 Amp power socket (one on each side). We would need 16 channels for the rig, 7 cables to run in to the back of the set and 4 to run to the booms (2 on each side). We will tour our own cables for the set–light bulb fixtures that are attached to the goalpost. A plan for theatres and rural halls are attached on page4.

Venues are asked to provide or rig the 10xfresnels FO Hand booms as per the plan. The house lighting is controlled by the in-house technician.

These lights are powered and controlled through the on-stage dimmer, and so sufficient cabling is required to run from rigging point to dimmer rack on-stage. The house lighting is controlled by the in-house technician. For a venues with no rigging points or in-house technician, two lighting stands tour with our company and will be made available.

PROPS & STAGE MANAGEMENT

After load-in, all props will be handled by the performers, due to delicate nature.

TOURING COMPANY

The Company tours with Ailie Cohen; Samuel Watson and Producer Sarah Gray. Whilst on tour they will take responsibility for leading the get-in, fit-up and get-out. One in-house technician should be available to assist with all activities, in particular they will be expected to rig and focus the LX and assist with sound.
